Copper Apparatus: Repeater Cases
809-Type Repeater Case
The 809-Type Repeater Case gives you above ground mounting for 12
T-Carrier repeaters for the SCL 96 carriers, T1/OS and other small
cross-section T1 Carrier Systems. It provides full security for your
carrier equipment, protecting them against the weather, corrosion, and
insects. For added security the cover can be padlocked. The 809-Type
Repeater Case is quick and easy to install, and offers easy
maintenance access. It can be mounted on any pole greater than 4 inch
diameter or on a pedestal that doubles as a splice closure.
The 809A3 mounts on a pole or stub, the 809B3 on a pedestal. Both
are equipped with 208A Gas Tubes for lightning protection, an
order-wire circuit, fault-locate filter, and a 25 foot filled, stub
cable. For improved surge protection you may add the AT-9045C
Protector. The stub cable is a 52-pair, 25 gauge DEPIC screened cable,
the sheath filled with a “D” encapsulant for protection from water.
Four 12-pair binder groups are assigned to the T-Carrier lines; the
remaining four pairs are used for the fault-locate and order-wire
circuits.
The mounting bracket permits the case to be rotated 95 degrees for
eye level testing when pole or stub mounted. Built-in maintenance
features designed to make the job easier include a dual fault-locate
capability to identify the location and direction of any line trouble.
Test and talk access are available through the order-wire circuit.
Features: • Above ground mounting for 12 T-carrier repeaters
• Rugged plastic case and a bell-jar cover design supply added
protection against flooding
• Equipped with 208A gas tubes and an order-wire circuit
• 52-pair, 25 gauge DEPIC screened cable filled with “D” encapsulant
for protection from water
818/819-Type Universal Repeater Case
The 24-Slot Universal 818/819 Repeater Case is fully loadable with
up to 24 cards of HDSL, ISDN, DDS or T1 Repeater. Each slot is sized
for any manufacturer’s type 239 card footprint. This makes the 24-Slot
Universal 818/819 Repeater Case compatible with any future repeater
technology. The interior design is optimized for heat dissipation
required to protect the various size HDSL doublers, including early
generation high wattage HDSL cards. The footprint of the 24-Slot
Universal 818/819 Repeater Case is identical to all previous
generations of the basic 818/819 housing. This new unit incorporates a
new, easy maintenance, Surge Protection Card that fully protects each
slot with 208A-type three-element gas tube protection.
Features:
• Complete product portfolio of 818/819 Universal
Repeater Cases
• Compatible with DDS, T1, ISDN, HDSL and HDSLX
• Above and below ground mountings
• Pressurized case with filled or air-core cable stubs
• All slots feature heavy duty, three-element gas tube protection
• Exceeds all of the Telecordia™ GR-487 Repeater Apparatus Case
specifications
820-Type Universal Repeater Case
The rugged 820-Type Universal Repeater Case provides an air tight
environment to protect up to eight T1 through XDSL plug-ins above or
below ground. It is designed to provide the same full security for
your carrier equipment that the 818/819-Type has provided for decades.
Like the 818/819-Type, the 820-Type provides the smallest footprint
per slot underground which helps in congested vaults already full of
network equipment. It is designed to be fully loaded with XDSL and far
surpasses the GR-487 requirements. It can be aerial or pedestal
mounted with the PC-Type pedestal serving as a splice closure, with 710
connectors.
The 820 case utilizes the same 307-Type Integrated Connector that
allows insertion of the T-Carrier repeaters and 208A Surge Protectors.
The 208A Protector isolates the 820 Repeater Cases against lightening
strikes.
The unique 820 heat sink base/housing design provides a dual/quad
chamber separation of the electronics and easy access for all
maintenance. This allows the use of every slot, with any
manufacturer’s XDSL 239 plug-ins and provides uninterrupted high cap
service under full solar loads (per Telcordia™ GR-487).
Features:
• Above or below ground mounting for up to 8 XDSL circuits
• Same rugged design as the 818/819 modular case
• 30 foot quad-screened cable stub for optimum shielding
• Lightweight case includes pole mounting bracket and hardware
• Exceeds GR-487 requirements
