Supra 10G

ANEXT is encountered when a signal from one copperpair jumps over to a pair of similar twist rates (similarcolor) on an adjacent cable. By utilizing the patentpending splined jacket, HCM is able to establish thespace necessary to limit ANEXT.

In its quest to maintain its technology leadership position, HCM has developed the next generation in communication cabling, Supra 10GTM. Designed to accommodate 10G BASE-T Ethernet (10G) and other band-width hungry applications, Supra 10GTM incorporates a unique construction that enables it to deliver 10G performance while retaining qualities typical of existing category cable. Supra 10GTM, like HCM's other Category 6 UTP cables, consists of four unshielded, twisted pairs, separated by a star filler, inside a single jacket. To meet and exceed anticipated Category 6A (10G) specifications, HCM has incorporated a splined jacket. This outer jacket creates a barrier between the cable and adjacent cables. This design not only maintains a consistent, round outside diameter, making it installation and termination friendly, it aids in the reduction of Alien Cross Talk (ANEXT). See diagram 1above.

The graphic above illustrates the relationship between Supra 10GTMcables when bundled closely together. Notice the significant spacebetween pairs of adjacent cables.
