Knuckle Joint
The Lewis Knuckle Join-1 (LKJ-1) provides a way to adapt a pulling swivel (or any other device) to the popular "Duckbill" style directional bits. Prior to the LKJ-1, connecting a ball bearing swivels to a duck bill bit caused the swivel to protrude at an angle that caused premature wear and tear on both the swivel and the bit. Now with the LKJ-1, that problem is SOLVED! The LKJ-1 allows the swivel to be pulled back in a straight line. This speeds up the process of pulling back, reducing the amount of drag that previously had to be adressed. It helps eliminate wear and tear on directional boring bits by maximizing the strength of the usable bolt size and minimizing bending of the attachment point hole.
The LKJ-1 quickly and easily attaches and detaches with one Allen head bolt. It can be ordered with either a saucer shaped deflector or the standard guard, depending on customer preference. The deflector and the guard help prevent shear loads and prevent costly pull back hangups. Please consider using the LKJ-1 for your next pull back operation.
