Fiber Optic Loss Test Kits

Fiber Optic Loss Test Kits include an optical power meter plus an LED source, laser source, or both. They also include a carry case and one adapter cap for the optical power meter.
Test kits that provide an LED source have model numbers beginning "MLP," short for "multimode light pack."
Test kits that provide a laser source have model numbers beginning "SLP," short for "single-mode light pack."
Test kits that provide both an LED and laser source, or the OLS 4 combination LED/laser source, have model numbers beginning "SMLP."
 

MLP 1 - Basic Multimode Test Kit

The MLP1 Test Kits are inexpensive solutions for testing multimode and single-mode systems. By joining the OPM 1 Optical Power Meter and the OLS 1 Optical Light Source, the MLP 1 is a great kit for beginners or network owners. Two versions of the MLP 1 Test Kit are available for testing Premises networks, LAN, and Gigabit Ethernet. The Test Kit includes a light source, power meter, protective rubber boots, adapter cap, 50 and 62.5 µm mandrels, MLP1 user's guide, and carry case.

The MLP1-1S Test Kit includes the OPM1-2C Optical Power Meter and OLS1-1C Optical Light Source.
The MLP1-2 Test Kit combines the OPM 1-2C Optical Power Meter and OLS1-2C Optical Light Source

SLP 4-6D SM test kit with Wave ID and Set Reference

The SLP 4-6D test kit combines the OPM 4-4D optical power meter and OLS 2-Dual LASER light source and is ideally suited for testing single-mode fiber optic networks.
The OLS 2-Dual features 1310 nm and 1550 nm LASER output from a single output port and is easy to operate. The LASER output is stabilized to ensure accurate test results per current TIA/EIA requirements. This light source offers 4 modes of operation: Dual wavelengths sending ID, single wavelength sending ID, CW, and modulated Tone. [Active Output], [Tone], [Battery], and [External Power] indicators identify the currently enabled operating mode, battery charge status, and external power presence. The output port is equipped with a removable SC (FC & ST available) adapter to allow the output connector to be inspected and cleaned.
The OPM 4-4D offers Wave ID, automatic wavelength identification and switching, when used with the OLS 2-Dual. Multiple test Tone detection is provided for fiber identification. The OPM 4-4D stores optical references for each calibrated wavelength. An easy to read Dual Wavelength LCD display with Backlight shows measured power [dBm or µW] or insertion loss [dB], calibrated wavelengths, tone signal [Hz], wavelength ID, and the battery charge status.
In addition to being powered by two AA alkaline, the OPM 4-4D or OLS 2-Dual can be powered by optional AC adapter and/or rechargeable NiMH battery pack.
The OPM 4-4D optical input port accepts Noyes thread-on style adapter caps. Adapter caps are required for operation and must be ordered separately.
The OPM 4-4D and OLS 2-Dual are fully N.I.S.T. traceable.

SMLP 4-4 SM/MM test kit with Wave ID and Set Reference

The SMLP 4-4 test kit combines the OPM 4-2D optical power meter and OLS 4 integrated LED and LASER light source and is ideally suited for testing fiber optic networks with hybrid (single-mode and multimode) cables.
The OLS 4 features 850 nm and 1300 nm LED output from a multimode output port and 1310 nm and 1550 nm LASER output from a single-mode output port. The LED and LASER outputs are stabilized to ensure accurate test results per current TIA/EIA requirements.
